It’s been a Long Month!

I’m so sorry for the silence, it’s been a long month with a few events here and there!

I have been struggling with fitting running in this month, fitting it in around work and life, especially with the events of this week…

At the beginning on the month I caught the dreaded cold, tight chest and therefore didn’t run a long distance, instead I’ve been enjoying running and created a festive shape…

On Sunday 17th December I did the annual ‘Christmas Cracker’ race in Weston-Super-Mare with my uncle, it was on the beach (urgh!) it was 10k and it was fancy dress!!

I loved it! It was fun, didn’t last too long (I love 10km) and my uncle is a marathon man! He’s ran over 100 half’s and marathons and he’s ran the London Marathon 3 times so as we were running he gave me some great advice and some amazing motivation.

This week started off ok, took it easy at the beginning of the week and planned to go for a long run on my days off this week. Another Christmas shape as I’m getting into the spirit!

Little did I know I’d be getting a phone call on Wednesday to say my other half and been knocked off his bike and had a suspected broken ankle.

One of the worse few hours of my life, He’s a very lucky man and has no broken bones but damaged ligaments in his ankle. He is currently in a ‘moon boot’ and can’t walk around, so I’ve spent the last few days nursing him!

It just means a little bit more work around the house for me, Darran is normally very good, washing up, preparing tea, walking the dog and now he’s sofa bound I’m struggling to fit it all in!!

Hey Ho… its Christmas, a week or so and it will all settle down and then I’ll get back on track, for now, life comes first

Merry Christmas Everyone
